Qigong Exercise and Meditation

Qigong (chi kung) means energy cultivation.  It is a 7,000-year-old Chinese healing system that uses specific breathing techniques, postures, and movement to enhance qi, the life force within you and the Universe.  Tai Chi has sometimes been called a type of Qigong, and the Tai Chi forms include Qigong postures and breathing.  Qigong can also be used to warm up before practicing Tai Chi forms.

Together, Tai Chi and Qigong will help you center your body, mind, and spirit, while helping you to develop flexibility, balance, and strength.

This is a beginner level class that will teach Qigong and Tai Chi.  It will be adapted for each student’s physical abilities.  

Although Tai Chi and Qigong are generally considered to be very safe, if you have specific medical conditions, it is recommended that you speak with your doctor to get approval for your participation in this class
